The clock is ticking and Varun Dhawan is coming back with yet another release. Judwaa 2.0 the remake of the original Judwaa which features Varun Dhawan playing the iconic double role characters that were famously played by bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Judwaa 2.0 is also directed by David Dhawan who originally directed the original as well. The film also features actresses like Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. Varun Dhawan is already on a high with the success of Badrinath ki Dulhania and the success of Judwaa 2.0 shall only cement its status further more. But does Judwaa 2.0 has anything else to offer besides Varun's star power?
We are not being cynical here. But if we take the promos, trailers, campaigns and whatever promotions that have been displayed to us till now, one can only say that Judwaa 2.0 is an out and out Varun Dhawan show. While we are not saying that the original Judwaa wasn't about Salman Khan only. Of Course Salman was the main player of that film but one cannot ignore the other factors also that attributed to the success of the movie. Anu Malik's music was a huge hit among the masses. Salman-Karisma's pair was also very popular. Everything had added to make the film a success.
But in Judwaa 2.0 it seems the makers are not even trying to do anything new. Take the trailer, look at the music. It's the rehash of the original. Also the actresses Jacqueline Fernandez is not even a patch on Karishma's talent while Taapsee Pannu is definitely talented, it seems like she will be wasted in this film for sure. After a knockout performance in 'Mera Naam Shabana' this will be a downer unless her role surprises the audiences but that looks difficult at the moment. The music too is cashing just on the old songs. There is no catchy number beyond Unchi hai Building 2.0 and so on...
And now we come to the leading man Varun Dhawan well you can't help but appreciate this boy's hardwork. Clearly if Judwaa 2.0 becomes a success, it will only and only because of Varun Dhawan. It's a challenge for him to now to pull this project successfully. Also comparisons will be made on him and Salman once the release is out. But one can't ignore the fact that it is only Varun Dhawan who can successfully do 'Judwaa' apart from Salman. Let's See if Varun manages to continue his winning streak. He hasn't given a single flop yet, sure few films did average business but he managed to stay afloat and one has to see where Judwaa lands on.
