Today Rangeela completes 22 years of Success. This blockbuster film's success is known to many. Rangeela was not just a film. It's a phenomenon that changed the entire face of Bollywood. It re-invented Aamir Khan as the new leading man of Cinema who is unconventional and not the typical goody goody roles. His Tapori act won numerous accolades although it is hard to believe that bollywood awards didn't make any effort to value his performance. Anyways alongside Aamir, A star was born in Urmila Matondkar who made the nation crazy with her songs and beauty. But not to forget she also established herself as an actress. There was more to her role than displaying sex appeal and oomph. Apart from that, Jackie Shroff was also praised for his supporting act while A R Rahman created a musical score which is still as lively as it was a decade ago. Also it established careers of many artists like Fashion Designer Manish Malhotra and choreographers like Ahmed Khan and Saroj Khan. The best thing about the film that it feels fresh even today. If you watch the film you would find it hard to believe that it came in 1995, it looked way ahead of its time and still clicked at the Box Office. Rangeela is one of those few films that needs be celebrated for its rich story, direction and music for decades. The film holds an IMDB rating of 7.5/10 and has many fans Internationally. But we really wonder what went wrong to the maker who created this amazing masterpiece? Its only a mystery to which why he had fallen into making thriller movies and never returned to musical rom-com. We wish he comes back to genre even if its not Rangeela then something else.
