Param Singh Tweets about Sadda Haq Ending : Going down the memory lane

As we all know that the much loved Channel V's Youth fiction programming is coming to an end. It was speculated that the channel would retain its shows on Hotstar. But actor Param Singh recently tweeted about the ending of the show has confirmed the news.

We surely understand that's it's a hard moment for everyone who was closely associated with the show. But like any good things coming to an end, Let's go down to the memory lane and enjoy some great moment of the show that set a benchmark in Youth programming. Sadda Haq that initially began with the theme of women empowerment was drawn near the character of Sayunkta Agrawal who wants to pursue her dream of becoming a mechanical engineer.

But as luck would have it, she's opposed by her parents and family. But determined to make her dream come true, Sayunkta still goes ahead and takes admission in FITE

Here she across various people coming through various backgrounds. Sayunkta finds support in Kaustauki. She also meets other students like Vidhushi, Jignesh, YoYo etc. She even comes face to face with a slightly arrogant but determined Professor Vardhan. But her real match comes in when the brilliant, snobbish Randhir Singh Shekhawat comes into picture.

Randhir is an extraordinary student that is vowing to become the top student of FITE and he's the main competitor to Sayunkta. As destiny was meant to be, both crossed their ways many times and were drawn towards each other. Randhir's hatred for women comes from the fact that her mother never really cared for her. Her constant fights with her drunkard father had spoiled his childhood. With such angst on his mind, Randhir had grown to be quite egoistic however on the flip side, he does have a good heart and he shows repeatedly that he cares.

Time passes and Sayunkta Randhir falls in love. Meanwhile, Parth Kashyap comes into the picture who acts as a tool to Randhir's Jealousy and make him realize his love for Sayunkta. After some tiffs and fights, they all become friends. Everything was fine at this point but slowly and steadily the show started to see a decline in excitement when some great characters made an exit.

The biggest shock received by viewers when Professor Vardhan left the show. After all he had a mission to stay in FITE. He had to lead his dream team in an International Competition to bring special honors for the Institute. Something the viewers had waited since long but unfortunately, that never happened. And if this was not enough. Jiggy and Kaustaki were soon out of the picture.

Like every daily soap, Sadda Haq too suffered from various ups and downs but the loyal following never left its side. More blows followed when Sayunkta's mother also left the show. The mother and daughter's bonding was something that gave this show a special edge. The show then targeted towards Sayunkta's fulfilling her dreams. Lots of actors with new characters were thrown in but honestly the charm was not there.

The show re-invented itself in season 2 this time having Aryan instead of Parth. FITE is not there but the magic of Randhir and Sayunkta still managed to rake in the moolah. Earnest performance by the cast did the trick but the writers didn't know where to take the story forward and how...Sandhir (fondly called by fans) are yet to re-unite and it remains to be seen when this would happen

But despite the glitches, it can't be ruled that Sadda Haq had succeeded to make its way into the hearts of the viewers. The noble idea worked big with its target audience and provided some great moments to be cherished always. A final word on performances - each of the cast has delivered superlative acts  and deserve an applause. Harshita Gaur is efficient as Sayunkta while Param played Randhir with gutso. This will remain a landmark performance in his career. As for the rest, Ankit Gupta was good as Parth and so as Krip Suri as Professor Vardhan. A special mention for Nissha Neha's Vidhushi which was quite a spicy character with shades of grey. The supporting cast and rest of the cast deserves a word of appreciation as well.

Sadda Haq's farewell shall be as disheartening as the farewell to Channel V.  An Era of a great programming comes to an end. We wish all the bes to the whole team of Sadda Haq for delievering such a great show

Social Media has become a necessity for almost everyone. Hardly anyone can survive without it if they are having access. Not just individuals, it's valuable for business related people to spread their network. Individuals wants to stay connected with their friends. But entertainment Industry is the biggest sector which targets social media. After all those numerous fan groups, online discussions about TV shows, celebrities and people give a boost to the Industry in form of many ways. It's one trend that's only increasing day by day.But the question here is...how much Social Media can affect to a success of a commodity. Can a product rely just on social media for success. With Social Media forming such a huge base on its own. Can it really affect for the betterment of the Industry. Let's talk about TV shows here. We don't need to tell how much popular Indian TV shows are on the web. Just hit one word on Google and millions of results shall pour in.

On a daily basis, millions and billions of fans shower their love on their favourite celebrities and TV shows. If we really go by their love, their favourite actors would go on to top every popularity list. They are of course loyal and quite dedicated. It's seen that Fan Power has done wonders in the past for TV shows and the actors. However, here we are talking about the social media popularity affecting the success of a TV show. How does it really contribute.Given by the Fan Power on the web, If we take on that account. Any TV show's huge fan following can guarantee for a huge success of a show.  Unfortunately, how good does it sound but its primarily a myth. In this article, we are not trying to hurt any fan's sentiments but this is one fact that they should understand. Few days back, we conducted a survey on TV shows. We tried to keep an eye on every popular show that has an amazing following.

But when it comes to ratings, there is a different story to tell. Appreciation doesn't turn into numbers. A tv associate on the basis of anonymity told us - "At the end its all about the numbers game. Social Media can help to an extent but if it doesn't help in numbers it's of no use. TV production isn't a child's play anymore. A TV series these days can cost two big budget movies rolling together in the entire production. It's obvious that the pressure to deliver on ratings is always tough to handle.
Some shows manage to do it and some cannot. Making a Quality show is itself a big risk and most of the times, it doesn't work out because the viewership for such shows always remains low. We also asked him about the long running soaps that are being dragged mercilessly and also the concepts of few shows that are turning funnier day by day. He said - "Well ! The makers hardly have a choice. The shows that fail to do well are taken off air in a short period. So the channel is forced to run those shows that have been doing well, if they are still getting the ratings.

He further added - 'The fact is most of the audience that watches these shows aren't even visible on social media. Most of the viewership comes from families and mostly homely women that are associated with these shows. Also, Social Media doesn't comply to only country or a sector. A following for a TV show is huge. It also draws Individuals from many countries. Even if there's a huge spread of word being flown it doesn't necessary imply for a higher viewership.A TV show Gangaa that's performing well overseas instead of its own country is a prime example.
In our survey, the results we found were deliberately surprising. The most appreciated shows on TV these days are 'Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi' 'Ek Duje Ke  Vaaste' 'Meri Awaaz hi Pehchaan Hai' 'Dahleez' but according to latest BARC ratings, their viewership seems not to be much happening While comparing to these shows, the ratings of long dragging and meaningless soaps like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Naagin, Sasural Simar ka, Saath Nibhana Saathiya have only increased with time despite receiving heavy criticism from social media lovers. Now this is simply Ironical!

We even got in touch with a fan to know her views. Preety Singh from Delhi who loves Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke, Dahleez and Ek Duje.. a lot. She told us that these shows are best. But when tried reasoning with her to face the facts that these shows do not get TRP despite appreciation, Then likely any typical serial lover she brushed us off and tried to win the argument. We gave up but these are facts and we didn't create them. It's a reality. However, there is another edge to the story as well. There are exceptions where Social Media have also strengthened a shows' viewership. Sadda Haq of Channel V is a prime example. The ratings of this show have only increased with the amazing following. and So of other channel V shows  like D3, The Buddy Project and Paanch but one thing can't be ruled out here that Channel V has extensively promoted all these shows on social platforms unlike other channels do.

But the question here is...how much Social Media can affect to a success of a commodity. Can a product rely just on social media for success. With Social Media forming such a huge base on its own. If you have followed Sadda Haq and D3, you must have followed their facebook pages too. A fantastic marketing campaign was involved that had really helped these shows. Another interesting aspect of the survey was that the TV shows that have almost null popularity on Social Media are actually doing really well. Sony's Hanuman and AndTV's Santoshi Maa both the mythological shows have hardly a great fan base on social media but they are consistently holding well on the charts.

After this, we turned back to the associate and asked for a mutual solution that can help the makers and also the fans on social media. He said - Although it's not possible for a TV show to run long without sustainable ratings however if we takes small measures and steps, there's a light to progress. He hinted towards making shorter series that run for a shorter period that can be deviod of ratings and provide good entertainment value as well. But he also added that's its a temporary solution. Producers still won't take risks to experiment regularly after all there are huge setups and big creative decisions involved. Anyways we can only hope for a bright future in entertainment where everyone can be pleased. The fans, the actors, the audience, the channel everyone in order. Only a change is needed...When ! We are yet to see.

Reasoning behind Sidhant Gupta quitting Tashan-E-Ishq !

In these times, any popular actor's quitting a show means almost a nightmare to the producers, channel and the fans. And this has now become a trend. The latest to join this bandwagon is none other than Kunj aka Sidhant Gupta from Tashan-E-Ishq who seems to be on the verge of quitting the show. Surprisingly, the popular show from Zee hasn't even completed a year and a popular actor from the cast already quitting the project seems to be giving shocking waves in the Industry?

Well what's the reasoning behind this massive decision? Sources have claimed that Sidhant has had been having a tough time dealing with the creatives and not satisfied with the tracks running along. It is to be noted that the show has seen a big decline in ratings over the past few weeks. However, another source has claimed a different story. It's suggested that Sidhant Gupta aka Kunj was initially signed as a cameo role. The show began with highlighting the issues of couple Yuvi (Zain Inam)and Twinkle. (Jasmin Bhasin)

Kunj was supposed to be a parallel role that comes about to bring a change in Yuvraj's heart. But as destiny would have it, Kunj and Twinkle's pair became really popular with time and the ratings of Tashan shot up. Kunj was seen as a perfect character and hence his appreciation increased day by day. The creatives had to deal with these three characters simultaneously. The original idea seems to have taken a backseat.

However, now Kunj shall make an exit and Yuvraj and Twinkle are about to unite. But another source had disqualified this piece of news. They refused to believe if there was any truth in it. Talks are still on to retain Sidhant in the show but seems like Sidhant may have already quit the show. It's revealed that Sidhant has got some big offers and he wants to take them up instead of the show. Well one can't deny the fact that Sidhant's presence shall going to be missed in the show for sure.

We would like Sidhant to stay back and keep entertaining his fans as of now. But at the end, Sidhant knows better what he must have been doing...We wish him all the best for his future endevours.

Reasoning behind 'Channel V' bidding adieu!

As we all know about the announcement of Channel V shutting down their fictional space and switching back to its musical genre and leaving a lot of its fans deeply saddened and shocked. Channel V was indeed one of the most loved Youth Channel across the country and its closure has brought an end to the Youth Space programming which was once very popular.

But what really made the channel took this decision. Various sectors of media have reported about the channel being closed down but none has suggested any possible reason for the same. We tried our best to dig out the reasoning behind this massive take. One source has revealed 'The channel has not been doing good financially for some time now. Hence the channel heads have taken this decision to take it back where it originally belonged to.

The newly shows launched by the channel - Mastaangi, Ishq Unplugged and D4 have been failed miserably at the ratings front. Even Gumrah, which was one of the most popular show of the channel has lost its facet completely. The only successful show on the channel that has been entertaining its viewers for long is 'Sadda Haq' but even that's running on a 'dragging spree'. And it's not really enough for the show to head a big channel alone.

A section of the media had earlier reported that ratings of Channel V had gone up, which is certainly not the case. If we analyse the channel's ratio of success and failures. It has seen the latter more. While shows like D3, Paanch, Sadda Haq, Surveen Guggal, Gumrah(previous seasons) and The Buddy Project were hits, On the other hand the channel saw big flops in Million Dollar Girl, O Gujariya, Friends Condtions Apply, Its complicated, etc However, it shall not be ruled out that the concepts have indeed being appreciated. But 'Appreciation' didn't turn into huge numbers.

As a Music Channel, Channel V won't be suffering much, neither their investment is likely to be much unlike in Youth Shows which was a huge sum. Marketing of each Youth show alone costed a lot and the failures of the shows didn't help. However, letting these things aside, Channel V has indeed given solid content in providing entertainment to Youth. What it couldn't fetch was a strong viewership. We wish Channel V all the best and hope that it comes back in Youth Fictional Space. Because we at the end, do need good shows. Also it's a wake up call for the audiences as they won't be finding much options in terms of quality entertainment.

We will miss you Channel V
